Who We Are - What We Believe

What We Believe

The Godhead
We believe that the Godhead eternally exists in three persons - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit – and that these three are one God; have precisely the same attributes, power and glory, and deserve the same homage, confidence and obedience.

The Holy Scriptures
We believe the Holy Scriptures to be the plenary-verbally-inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original writings, and the only infallible rule of faith, doctrine, and practice.

Salvation
We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins.

We believe that the physical resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ from death is the perfect authentication of His blood-sacrifice and sovereign lordship, and is thus the perfect assurance of the believer’s resurrection and eternal life in God’s presence.

We believe that all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God’s power and are thus secure in Christ forever; that it is the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation through the testimony of God’s Word, but that such privilege does not give liberty to live a sinful life.

The Ministry and Spiritual Gifts
We believe that all believers are equipped for spiritual service through divine enabling gifts. These gifts are given to the believer at the moment of salvation. We believe that some of the gifts were “sign” gifts and were given to authenticate both God’s message and His messenger until the completion of the New Testament Scriptures.

The Ordinances of the Church
We believe that the two ordinances of the church are the Lord’s Supper and water baptism. These are designated in Scripture as a means of testimony for the church in this age; but that each person’s convictions regarding water baptism are to be left as a matter of personal liberty of conscience.
